In the context of the provenance research conducted in collections of Swiss federal institutions, the holdings of the Swiss National Museum were also inspected with an eye to art works and objects looted during the NS regime. The findings of the research to date have been published in two reports.
On the strength of the available sources and research work to date, three objects were identified as looted art or at least suspected of being looted art. They are all published on the Lost Art Database (Lost Art-ID 582669, 582667, 585656). A silver drinking vessel dating from the 17th century from the collection of Emma Budge was returned to the heirs in 2012.
